Overview Distance Sensors

General Advice
Distance sensors like flowtronic 208, flowtronic 209, MicroStar microwave sensor, Correvit sensor or others can only be connected to the calculation and display unit flowtronic 206 with printer 207. The distance sensor will be needed for distance based fuel consumption measurement.
To adapt a MicroStar microwave sensor or other customer specific distance sensors the impulse devider G-I1056 is required.
The distance sensor signal will be connected to the printer flowtronic 207:
- System 206/207/S60
- System 206/207/4703X/S60
- System 206/207/210X
The calculation and display unit flowtronic 215 with printer flowtronic 217 does NOT provide a distance sensor input.
MicroStar Microwave Sensor
The MicroStar microwave sensor measures the travelled vehicle distance without contact, too. The sensor uses the radar Doppler-effect and the technology of ultra-short radio waves. Actual speed and travelled vehicle distance can be measured. Unevenness of the road surface and pitching up to max. 5° is compensated by the sensor due to his two way radar wave technique.
The sensors offers a wide vertical operation tolerance and a minimum power consumption. It is rather insensitive against dirt and moisture.
For the connection to a system based on flowtronic 206/207 the impulse devider G-I1056 is needed.
The MicroStar sensor can be linked via serial interface to a customer owned PC or notebook and operated by the software package DCALS.
This combination of sensor plus software DCALS offers a stand alone system for all standard automotive testing like acceleration test, elasticity measurement etc.
The MicroStar sensor is less recommended for very high dynamic measurement (e.g. stopping distance measurement) as it does not have the measuring accuracy defined by the usual standards. It is used for example with passenger cars, trucks, specialized vehicles and motor bikes.
Correvit-Sensor
Optical Correvit speed sensors are used for non-contact travelled distance measurement.
Correvit sensors are available in several versions and they are used worldwide and for many years as a standard sensor for many applications.
For the operation with a system based on flowtronic 206/207 a single axis sensor with distance signal (TTL pulse output) is required.
The Correvit sensors can also be linked via serial interface to a customer owned PC or notebook and operated by the software package DCALS.
This combination of sensor plus software DCALS offers a stand alone system for all standard automotive testing like acceleration test, elasticity measurement etc.
This combination of sensor plus software DCALS offers a stand alone system for all standard automotive testing like acceleration test, elasticity measurement, brake tests etc.
Correvit sensors are recommended for many applications and especially for very high dynamic measurement (e.g. stopping distance measurement). These sensors have the measuring accuracy defined by the usual standards. They are used for example with passenger cars, trucks, specialized vehicles and motor bikes.
